Supreme Court Decision
The supreme court in Denmark has decided that a father receive sole custody of the child due to parental alienation by the mother. The child was been living with shared custody and the mother was residentual parent. This has now changed.
Shared parenting with shared custody and equal parenting time is the most used and fastest growing model for children in the Nordic countries. In Denmark double residence is possible for parents by law.
The supreme court verdict is a clear signal to all parents that prevention and harassment of shared parenting for children is not allowed by law and will not be allowed by the courts.
The UN convention of the rights of the child state that all children has a human right to know and be cared for by its parents. The European Human Rights convention state that all citizens has the right to respect of family life and all citizens most be protected against discrimination.
